Latics ever so faint play off hopes were dashed by a defeat to bogey side Doncaster Rovers. A patched up Latics side were second best throughout the contest and undone by a goal from James Coppinger on 66 minutes. Coppinger latched onto a through ball from Armstrong and slotte dhome from 12 yards. Butcher and Beckett came close for Oldham but it was not to be Latics day.

Manager Rating
Nice to see him put Wolfenden on the bench but I would personally like to have seen him take a gamble and start some of the kids rather than playing off form first teamers out of position

Summary
Latics go into the last game of the season with only pride to play for. One would assume that now we know what league we will be playing in next season, Ronnie Moore knows which players he wants gone and wants to stay. Ronnie recently said that some of the youngsters will be given a chance to impress against scunthorpe. I dont think they can do any worse than how the first team have done the past five games.
