An unbeaten Oldham run has been stretched to 12 games now after an impressive win over Coventry City at Boundary Park on Tuesday night.

Coventry’s run of poor form isn’t too far behind our good run of form as we spanked them 4-1.

It didn’t take us long to break through as Jonathan Forte knocked on to Danny Philliskirk (18) and he fired home from the edge of the area beyond ‘keeper Ryan Allsop.

With half an hour played the lead was doubled when Jordan Willis had the ball taken off him by Forte (29) who went away to finish in a way we’ve become accustomed to.

That deficit was cut in half when teenager James Maddison too a freekick with his 25-yard effort deflected wickedly to wrong foot Paul Rachubka.

Liam Kelly almost lobbed in a third before Forte (41) again showed clinical finishing when put in one-on-one with the ‘keeper by Jabo Ibehre to make it three-one at the break.

The post denied Shaun Miller bringing Coventry back into the game after the break with Allsop preventing Forte from claiming the match ball, the game was already won.

Ibehre (78) made sure when he headed home his first goal for us from a Genseric Kusunga cross to wrap up a four-one win and make promotion aspirations very possible.
