Latics Edge Through

Latics put on a professional display to see of a brave Kings Lynn team who did themselves proud.

Latics dominated early proceedings and took the lead when Chris Porter got a touch on Andy Liddells cross to guide the ball into the net and make it 1-0. Porter and Wellens missed glorious chances to add to Latics lead and the hosts nearly equalised but fortunately Pogliacomi was equal to Jack Deftys looping header.

However, in the second half, as the game drew on, fitness came into play and Latics scored the inevitable second when newly nicknamed Chris Hall came off the subs bench to head home and make it 2-0.

Manager Rating
Again, Shez got it pretty much spot on and got his team ready for the fight. We showed the same respect to Kings Lynn as we would have done to Notts Forest which ultimately resulted in us winning the game.

Summary
A professional display by Latics which puts them through to the third round where we will face Wolves away. A tough tie, but most definately winnable.
