Solid full-back or midfield maestro? Either way he’s in the Wales squad.
Latics youth product Neal Eardley has been called up to the Wales senior squad after captaining the under-21s in recent fixtures. The youngster will be given the chance to show his talents when the Welsh take on Denmark in a friendly, something that’ll hopefully bump up his price tag should clubs come knocking in January.
The call-up means Eardley will miss the replay against Cheltenham in the FA Cup, following the 2-2 draw on Saturday. The game mentioned will also see the Chaddy End closed to save costs, for the expected low turnout.
Eards finished last season as the creative force in a 4 man Latics midfield, a position that many thought he could make his own this season. However for the majority of this season, Eards has played in the position where he played in for his other 100+ appearances for the club; right back.

meh Eardley is clearly up to International standard.
He really is an improving player, I hope he gets the amount of bows he deserves for his efforts.
