Oldham Athletic are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with Scunthorpe United.

The performance by Kean Bryan in the two nil victory over Scunthorpe United at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bryan was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The Latics kept a Scunthorpe side which sit fifth in the table at bay on Saturday, with Bryan demonstrating his class and composure in a backline which remained unbreached throughout.’

Manager Ritchie Wellens was also selected as the boss of the Team of the Week given Oldham’s overall performance.

‘A second mention for Oldham and, on this occasion, their manager. Wellens’ three second-half substitutions proved inspired with Patrick McEleney netting the opener at Glanford Park, before Aaron Amadi-Holloway sent Eoin Doyle clear to wrap things up.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to both for their recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
