Byfield Loan Deal

Latics have finally completed the signing of striker Darren Byfield, be it for a month’s loan. Speculation has been rife in the last 2 weeks and the transfer deal we all knew was happening has finally concluded.

Byfield joins from Championship club Doncaster Rovers and the experienced frontman goes straight into the Latics squad for the Northampton game, wearing the number 23 shirt.

Byfield only moved to Donny in the summer but has failed to make an impact; failing to score in 9 outings. He joins Latics to battle it out with Lee Hughes, Lewis Alessandra and Matty Wolfenden up front.
