A place in the semi finals of the northern section of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is up for grabs tonight, and Oldham will want to take this from a home game with a league 1 rival.

Oldham take on rivals Preston North End at Boundary Park tonight with the winners knowing that they’ll advance into the semi finals of the northern section of the JPT.

We are definitely without Jabo Ibehre (suspension) and Daniel Johnson (ineligible). Ibehre was sent off late in the one-one league 1 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday for a second bookable offence with Johnson ineligible as he previously played in this competition for Chesterfield in another loan spell from Aston Villa.

Brian Wilson (illness) missed out at the weekend and could miss out again with Genseric Kusunga possible given a rest after his exploits with Angola recently.

Adam Lockwood (knee) could return but George Elokobi is still not quite fit to return and Rhys Turner is still injured.

Preston could give Jermaine Beckford his debut following his loan arrival last week but Alan Browne (hamstring), Andy Little (calf) and Bailey Wright (groin) are all set to miss out again.
