A topsy-turvy game saw Oldham extended an unbeaten run to seven-games, but we had to be content with another draw this weekend.

Oldham allowed a lead to slip before battling back to secure a 2-2 draw with Peterborough United at London Road on Saturday afternoon, the hosts were denied by the woodwork twice though.

We started well with Danny Philliskirk, who earned a starting place after his brace from the bench in our three-two win last weekend, picking out Jonathan Forte (6) and he made no mistake, as has been the case since his summer arrival.

Marcus Maddison almost brought the home side level instantly but his 25-yard effort hit the bar.

Peterborough hit the post again, although this time Michael Bostwick (18), back from almost two-month injury, saw his effort go in via the post.

Had it not been for James Wilson, in the right place at the right time, Peterborough would have been ahead at the break but he cleared a Conor Washington effort off the line.

Maddison (51) wasn’t denied early in the second half though as his freekick saw Posh take a two-one lead.

Genseric Kusunga (66), who scored his only other league goal for us against the same side last season, headed home Mike Jones’ corner to make it two-two at the midway point of the second half though.

A winner could have gone to either side with Maddison going closest of all late on, but once again he was thwarted by the post as the game ended two-two.
