Brett Ormerod has returned to Preston after picking up a broken toe. Ormerod was meant to be on loan for the month but the deal has now been ended due to the circumstances.
The former Southampton and Blackpool man had only made 2 starts for Latics due to his lack of fitness, which is a real shame as on his day Ormerod is a quality asset at this level. This goes to explain why only 6 subs were named yesterday in Latics’ 2-2 draw with Cheltenham.
This news could lead to Chris O’Grady retruning from his loan at Bury, yet it is also expected that Shez will aim to bring in another loan striker. The biggest link so far has been with Darren Byfield but other names such as Paul Heffernan and Andy Cole have been suggested.

Aye only recently, at least if we get Byfield, we get Jamiliea at Boundary Park as well 😀
