Oldham midfielder Paul Edwards looks set to miss this weekend’s game against Blackpool after sustaining a serious knee injury, according to the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
Edwards was subbed off late in the game (87th minute) against Forest after an injury to his knee. A scan has revealed that the midfielder has sustained his medial ligaments.
His injury looks set to leave him on the sidelines for the next 2-3 weeks.
Edwards has been ever-present this season forging a good relationship with Simon Charlton on the left flank. The injury ends a 28 game consecutive run of first team appearances.
Also, Moussa Dabo is back on the sidelines after a knee injury sustained in pre-season has re-occured. Dabo, brother of Manchester City’s Ousmane, has yet to make his first team debut.
However, there is some good news on the injury front. Striker Chris Hall came through a reserve match yesterday against Stockport County unscathed. Hall has been out for a month with a thigh strain and played 81 minutes yesterday with no adverse reaction to his thigh.
The reserves won 1-0 after an 80th minute Neal Trotman header.
