Oldham Athletic had better brace themselves for more offers for teenage sensation Tom Eaves who helped himself to a hat-trick last night as Latics beat Bolton 3-0.

Blackpool have already tried twice to buy the 18 year old but their bids of around £250,000 were knocked back and on last night`s performance you can see why.

Eaves started the game as a sub but had to be brought on when Muamba but in an over-zealous challenge on Warren Feeney that forced the Irishman off the field.

The youngster Eaves hadn`t been on the field for many minutes when he opened the scoring on 26, he picked the ball up midway in the Bolton half, went towards the left hand side of the penalty box, left Ricketts wondering where he had gone before firing in a low shot at the far post that gave keeper Jaaskelainen little chance.

And Eaves soon had the ball in the net for a second time when he latched onto a delightful through-ball from Reuben Hazell, shrugged off the attentions of O`Brian and put the ball past Jaaskelainen for his and Latics` second.

The third came on 55 minutes after a good spell of play from Bolton, Lewis Alessandra charged forward and looked set to score when he found himself in a one on one situation with the keeper, but he passed to Eaves who slotted the ball into an empty net to make it three.

Took his chances well but we should not lose sight of the fact that it was only a friendly.

May have only been a friendly, but the lad is in the shop window and this wont have done his value any injustice.
