Stam had made 109 appearances for the Latics over his 5 year stay with the club and now new gaff Penney has decided that he no longer requires the services from the form Eindhoven player.
He is now with 5 other players who have left the club this month and who knows maybe they’ll be more.
Stefan was a solid defender for us, he was just unlucky with the injuries he picked up and as for the manager obviously he just thought that it wasn’t meant to be, hopefully we will be seeing some fresh faces through the doors of Boundary Park in the next few months.
