Ritchie Wellens told the official site:

‘ I’m hoping to be fit for Saturday, McClen cut straight down the back of me, it was very sore and swollen at first, but I want to play on Saturday. The most disappointing thing is that it was right on the last minute, and I was going nowhere, he could of just let me put it out for a throw in. If it would have been me that made the tackle I would have probably been sent off.’

Speaking of the last game he said they had their chances but didn’t convert them.

‘The team played well second half, we put the ball down passed it and kept it to feet, we created a lot of chances but we didn’t put the ball away. We need to start supplying our front men with quality passes instead of 50/50 balls, if we can do that then I’m sure they will start putting them away.’

But says, with so many new players, that you have to give the team time to come together.

‘You have got to give a team with so many new players a little more time to gel, we accepted at the start of the season that we were going to take a few hammerings, it doesn’t happen over night. If we were at the same standard as the Chelsea squad then you could expect more but were league one players, it’s bound to take a bit of time.’

Lets hope not too much time though eh?!
