Along with Andy Liddell, the official site now reports that Oldham striker Chris Porter is also on the mend and on track to be ready to play some part in Latics’ Pre-Season friendly.

The Ex-Bury player has had four sessions of lithotripsy — shock wave therapy — on the joint.

Former oldham defender Danny Hall (now at Shrewsbury) had the same treatment for his injury on the knee and made a successful comeback to the Oldham playing squad.

With no setbacks expected, Porter will have one more session later this month.

The Latics’ physio Lee Nobes said:

‘He should be fine by the time the players report back for pre-season training at the end of the month.’

Porter arrived at Oldham from Bury last summer.
