Both sides came away from this game with a point but it could have been three for either side had they been able to take the chances that came along a little better.

In the first half Latics were lucky to escape without conceding as the home side had the better of the game.

Rowan Vine could have put the Dons in front but for a fine save by Ben Amos when the pair went one on one. And Oldham were thankful to see an effort from Peter Leven hit the post when the keeper was beaten.

Amos was called into action again and made a superb stop to keep Vine off the score sheet, and there was another chance for the home side straight away when the ball rebounded from that save to Luke Chadwick who put his effort over the bar.

Then Filipe Morais came to the rescue of his side when he cleared a header from Sean O’Hanlon off the line.

As the teams looked forward to half time, Latics could have stolen a goal when Dean Furman sent in a shot from distance but David Martin in the Dons goal pulled off a great save to keep the score level.

The second half was a closer affair, although Sam Mantom could have snatched all of the points late on, but was just a fraction off target when he fired from the edge of the penalty area.

Some would say jammy, some would say lucky, others would say jamstrangled. They would all be right.
