Oldham make the journey south to take on Dagenham and Redbridge looking for all three points so they can keep up their challenge for a playoff place.

The home side also need the points but for a very different reason, they sit in the relegation zone, four points from safety. Daggers have already lost seven games on their own patch this season and Latics would not mind making it eight.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Dickov: ‘We have to take on board what happened at Accrington where our performance was chalk and cheese compared to last Saturday against Huddersfield.

‘We know what we have to do, though we will be respecting Dagenham as they are a good team.

‘John Still has done a fantastic job and we know we will have been in a game as they are hard to beat at home.

‘But, it is about how we approach the game and, if we do things right, we will have a chance.’

Dag & Red Team News:

Goalkeeper Tony Roberts is set to return for the visit of Oldham.

The 41-year-old has missed the last four games with an ankle injury, which prevented him from kicking the ball, but is fit now and could replace stand-in Chris Lewington between the sticks.

Defender Scott Doe has suffered a setback in his recovery from ankle ligament damage and misses out so Will Antwi will continue.

Manager John Still is boosted, however, by the return of loan duo Kayleden Brown and Medy Elito.

Brown and Elito arrived last week from West Brom and Colchester respectively, but were ineligible for the FA Cup replay against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

The Daggers were unfortunate to lose 3-2 at Orient and Still may name the same side which would keep Roberts, Brown and Elito on the bench.

Player to watch: Danny Green

Young, enthusiastic and knows how to set up his team mates for them to score. Seven assists so far this season.

Oldham Team News:

Oldham have signed rookie Leeds defender Aidy White on loan until January 3 ahead of the trip.

The homegrown youngster made his United debut as a 16-year-old under Gary McAllister in August 2008 and has since made 23 senior appearances, including three this season.

He will come into contention for Paul Dickov’s side but key midfielder Dean Furman and winger Filipe Morais are both banned.

Furman serves a one-match ban for collecting five bookings and Morais starts a three-match ban for being sent off in the reserves.

Striker Lewis Alessandra is due back after missing last Saturday’s win over Huddersfield with a thigh muscle problem.

Jon Worthington has joined Fleetwood on loan, but he has not played in the first team this term and has been on the transfer list since pre-season.

Player to watch: Dale Stephens

Six goals, three assists, 38 shots. Not scared of having a go.
