Having had the disappointing loss to Preston North End in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, manager Lee Johnson was delighted with our reaction in the game against Rochdale and he’s now looking forward to us taking that into the game against Doncaster Rovers and he wants to see us book a place in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend.

Donny gaffer Paul Dickov returns to Boundary Park for the first time since his departure in February 2013, but speaking to the Official Site the manager said he knew it would be a very tough encounter and he doesn’t believe that anybody should read too much into our first win of the season against Doncaster back in August.

‘They have got some excellent players such as Wellens, Coppinger, Bennett and they are on a good run. We are under no illusions that it’s going to be a tough game but a good one. There is a bit of a story behind it, especially with Paul Dickov coming back to the club for the first time and he did well for the club while he was here.’

Johnson goes on to say that we do have some selection issues ahead of the game and James Wilson has been ruled out as he serves a one match automatic suspension having picked up five yellow cards this season.

But he knows he has options and he can bring others in or move people about a bit and he confirms that George and Jabo are back.

‘We may change the shape or we may keep it the same, I’m not too sure yet, but we will see from the personnel.’

Whilst admitting that it’s a tough test for us in the second round, Johnson does want to see us progress and hopefully pick up another plum tie in the third round again and the 33 year old knows that we go into the game with confidence from previous Cup runs and our form this season, so we just have to focus on doing what we know we can and hopefully the result will take care of itself.
