Ex-Latic loan star Neil Kilkenny made his first appearance for the Australian national side at the weekend.

Neil Kilkenny, who is on Hiddink’s World Cup standby list for the socceroos, came on as a substitute in the game which seen him play along the side of the likes of Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill. Australia cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Dutch amateurs, V.V. Kloetingen.

Kilkenny also played some part in assisting Joshua Kennedy to score his second goal of the match.

Although Kilkenny was London born, he was brought up in Brisbane before returning to England as a teenager.

Kilkenny spent 6 months on loan at Oldham in the 04/05 season and made 35 starts, scoring 5 goals for the Latics. He then went on to make 25 premiership appearances for Birmingham City last season, leading him to collect Birmingham’s ‘Young Player Of The Year’ award.

yeh i was gonna say lol, Unfortunately i dont think so, i think if we wud have gone up and they would have stayed up it would have been a possibilty but i think alot of our fans would also like Lee Croft back on loan. He was here same time as kilkenny and was just as good and made a bigger impact.
