Oldham manager Paul Dickov was not very happy with his side after they went down 2-0 to Brentford at the weekend.

It was the Latics first defeat in five games thanks to goals from Jonathan Douglas and Myles Weston, the Bees also hand Miguel Llera sent off.

Dickov said: ‘We knew it would be tough because Brentford are solid and professional so we had to give ourselves every chance by playing well.

‘That just did not happen and I’m very disappointed because we dropped our standards from start to finish.

‘After two away wins at Walsall and Leyton Orient, maybe the players started thinking they were better than they really are. I have to get to the bottom of why we can play so well away from home but then come back here and perform like that.

‘It was flat and frustrating. The game is about hard graft, organisation and decision-making but far too many players were off the boil.

‘When you don’t get the basics right it will cost you and I need to look hard at what happened. I am not happy.’
