Paul Dickov believes that his side is good enough to end the season in the top half of the table and that is the target he has set his players.

But if they carry on picking up home defeats like the latest one on Tuesday night against Orient, it won`t happen.

If Oldham had managed to pick up the full three points then any fears they had of being dragged into a relegation battle would have been ended and Dickov`s dream would be coming close to fruition.

It won`t be easy for Oldham, next up are Notts County away and then games against Charlton, Sheff Weds, Carlisle and Brentford, all of whom need the points.

Dickov said: ‘I still want the top half; there`s a great chance for us to do it but we have to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

‘Tuesday was a big opportunity that we missed so we have to go and try and win the game at Notts County.

‘We believe we have the players to go and win there; we went to Hartlepool and won there – and went to Sheffield United and won there.’
