Manager Lee Johnson and midfielder Korey Smith have both previewed the game against Crewe Alexandra and both are confident we can take all three points.

Starting with the gaffer on the Official Site Johnson has pulled no punches and said simply this is a game we must win.

‘It will be a great one to win because we can nudge away from them, we’ve also got a better goal difference and sometimes that can count as an extra point at this stage of the season. I’ve seen Crewe a lot and it will be a tough game, they’ve got spirit and certain players back fit so it will be tough.’

Johnson goes on to say that in many ways both teams are very evenly matched and both will clearly be after all three points so it should be a good battle, and we are boosted by the fact we can welcome back David Worrall, Jonson Clarke-Harris and James Dayton, so he does have a touch of a selection headache ahead of him which he more than welcomes.

We have of course added to the squad today, but at the time of the interview which was yesterday he had to admit that we did have two players lined up but both suffered injuries so that put paid to those deals.

He also admitted that he knows we have used way too many players so far this season, but there have been reasons for that even though it isn’t ideal but it’s something he is mindful of.

Smith however was more positive as he looked forward to the game, saying he believes that we are close to going on a run that will really see us shoot up the table.

‘Sometimes when you’re at the bottom, things just don’t fall for you. A couple of those chances on Tuesday would have gone in, but we’ll keep a positive mind frame and turn that around soon.’

Agreeing with the gaffer he also says that Crewe will be a very big test for us, but it’s one he believes that we can overcome and take the win that we want.

Of course with the 24 year old back in contention now following his injury, that is a boost in itself if he can really show some form now, so hopefully onwards and upwards and the gaffer can really celebrate the nearing of his 12 months in charge.
