Wilkinson Return Unlikely

When Conor Wilkinson’s loan spell with Oldham expired back along Lee Johnson didn’t hide the fact that he hoped to bring him back for a second spell.

The Bolton Wanderers striker returning before the transfer deadline tomorrow now looks highly unlikely due to a training ground knock he picked up, coupled with another striking departure from the Championship outfit.

Johnson revealed that Wilkinson ‘got a knock to his knee’ that will set him back and the boss also doubts that with Jermaine Beckford leaving Bolton, he turned out against us in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy exit last night, for a loan spell with Preston North End they probably wouldn’t let him go anyway?

He does have ‘irons in the fire’ though but with funds limited he concedes he might have to do with what he has.

Also confirmed was the fact that recent trialist Roope Riski isn’t likely to arrive either as his current club, Finnish outfit Honefoss have asked for a transfer fee and his wage demands were also ‘unrealistic’

One that could go out before 5pm on Thursday is David Mellor with Johnson of the opinion that it might be the ‘right time for David to go out on loan’ and this could be with the option for the loaning club to sign him permanently.
