The loan transfer window closed earlier this evening and manager Lee Johnson was a busy boy.

He managed to strike deals to bring in young striker Tom Youngs and experienced goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, whilst also letting out Jack Truelove and Neil Etheridge.

20 year old Youngs joins us on a youth loan from Bolton Wanderers until January 5, he’s been handed the No 22 shirt for his time with us, and he is in contention to make his debut when we face Rochdale this weekend.

36 year old Kenny comes to us with a wealth of experience having played in over 600 games, as well as having Premier League experience.

He joined Bolton Wanderers following his release by Leeds United over the summer and he also goes straight into the squad for the weekend.

Truelove has moved out to Conference North side Colwyn Bay on a youth loan of his own until January 3 and it’s hoped the 18 year old will get further good first team experience to aide his development and build on the loan spell he had earlier in the year with Stalybridge Celtic.

24 year old goalkeeper Etheridge has moved out on an emergency loan deal to Charlton Athletic until the end of December.

Having played his only game for the club on Tuesday evening in the Penalty Shootout loss to Preston North End in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, he will remain with the Addicks until December 30.
