Not only is Lewis dropped for new loanee Darren Byfield but captain Sean Gregan will have to be content with a place on the bench as Stefan Stam steps in at centre back. Elsewhere Kevin Maher replaces the injured Danny Whitaker.
Northampton are fielding 2 former Latics men; Leon Constantine up front, who had a stint on loan last season and Holt who has become a steady left sided player since leaving Latics.
