Lawrie Wilson struck in stoppage time last night to take away what would have been a well earned point for Oldham, but instead they went down 1-0 at the Lamex Stadium.

The game itself was not exactly full of action, if it had ended 0-0 that would have been a fairer reflection on the game.

Stevenage’s win keeps them in with a chance of a play-off spot at the end of the season while unlucky Latics must go on searching for the points they need for a mid-table finish.

Both teams had chances to take the lead early on in the game Oldham’s Youssouf shot just over the bar while Bostwick fired a shot wide of the mark at the other end.

Boro keeper Chris Day then took a woeful goal kick that resulted in Tom Adeyemi trying to lob the keeper from 30 yards but his effort had a little too much distance.

Alex Cisak was called into action in the second half and he rushed out to to deny Craig Reid who was put through by Jordan Slew.

But the deadlock was finally broken in the first minute of added time as Darius Charles’ cross from the right was met with a diving header by Wilson.
