Manager Lee Johnson was left disappointed following our one all draw with Crawley Town last weekend.

On loan debutant Daniel Johnson put us ahead early on, but we couldn’t build on that and Crawley equaliser shortly before the half time break.

Speaking to the Official Site after the game, Johnson admitted that we just hadn’t done enough on the day to have warranted all three points, so it was a fair point but his disappointment came from knowing that we could’ve done a lot more in the match.

‘Fair play to them they came with a game plan. They got behind the ball in the first half and didn’t have too many attacks and neither did they in the second half, we were poor today. I was really disappointed. A lot of our basics were off.’

Johnson went on to say that although he’s sure we dominated possession in the game, and won the battle on the shot and corner count, he knows we didn’t have the quality in the final third to have made the most of that and won the game outright.

The gaffer went on again to praise Crawley for their efforts, but said our players should’ve shown a lot more energy than they did in the game.

‘Make no mistakes I was very disappointed because I didn’t feel we had the quality. They worked hard and it was their third game in a week so you would hope that our players would have gone out with a bit more energy than they did and that’s what I’m disappointed with, but we played poorly, and got a point so there’s the positive, but I’m not a happy bunny.’

Talking about their leveller on the day, Johnson said the goal was a ‘comedy of errors’ really.

‘I don’t know why Paul Rachubka has decided he’s Pirlo and started Cruyffing it in his box and plays it into James Wilson and, to be fair to Chubs, he’s giving it to Wilson who had a lot of time to clear it and he misplaces his pass and it’s another shot that has gone in from 25 yards.’

Finishing his interview, he explained that he felt that Jonathan Forte either wasn’t getting the right service or he wasn’t moving enough to get the right service, so he felt it was the right decision to bring him off and try something different in the match.

‘I spoke to him and we’ll watch the DVD again and if I’m right or wrong I’ll hold my hands up.’
