Oldham manager Paul Dickov was very impressed with his side after they turned around a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 at high flying Sheffield United.

Oldham were looking for a goal to get back into the game after falling behind to goals from Matt Lowton and Ched Evans.

But it was Richard Cresswell`s own goal that lifted Latics and when Lowton saw red for two yellows, Oldham took full advantage and drew level through Kieran Lee.

Shefki Kuqi then got the winner from the penalty spot after Harry Maguire hauled down Reuben Reid, he also saw red.

Dickov told PA Sport:‘It was fantastic. When you’re 2-0 down at half-time, especially at a place like this, you tend to think the worst. But I didn’t think there was a lot in the first half. Two individual errors cost us and when you make silly mistakes defensively against a team as good as Sheffield United, you’re going to get punished.

Dickov also pointed out the age of his squad that has to be on average one of the youngest in the country.

‘If you look at the average age of the team, I’m really proud of my players because we’ve shown people that we’re a good team. If you take Shefki (Kuqi) out of the team, I think the average age is under 21. We believe that we’re trying to do the right thing.’
