Manager Lee Johnson has said he’s confident that Oldham can more than compete this weekend when we make the trip to London Road to face Peterborough United.

Having extended our run to seven unbeaten, Johnson told the Official Site that whilst he was daft enough not to realise what a tough game this would be for us, he was confident we could get the result we wanted and keep our run going.

‘I expect them to have a lot of energy in the front four and they are busy and dynamic. They have a strong defence and up there for a reason. But they do have chinks in their armour that we will look to exploit. We will go there full of confidence that we can get a result.’

Johnson goes on to say that we have to go there and show the appropriate respect for the threat that they are, but not let that overshadow or move our focus from how good we are and the threat that we can be. Respect them, but show them what we are capable of and are about.

With our current run also meaning that we have only lost three games out of the last 22 Johnson went on to talk about how important our energy, focus and discipline is and needs to be if we are to continue this and keep making progress in the way he believes we are, but what he wants us to do now is turn those draws – ‘we have probably had too many’ – into wins and really start capitalising on our good spells in games and when we are on top.
