Christian Montano has said that Oldham fear no one as we look to progress in the FA Cup this weekend, because on our day we know we can beat anybody.

Last season Oldham were obviously one of the shock teams of the tournament having eliminated Nottingham Forest, Liverpool before losing to Everton and even though goal scoring machine Matt Smith has now departed, Montano remains confident that we have the players who can do that all over again as long as we are on our game and stay focused.

Speaking to the press ahead of the match, the player said.

‘We can definitely beat anyone on our day. We’ve proved that we can play better than every other team in the league so far. Possession wise, pressing, everything. We’ve just been unlucky in front of goal but hopefully that will turn around, starting at Wolves.’

Montano says that given we have a very young squad at the club now we can go one of two ways, ‘terribly bad’ or ‘amazingly’.

The belief within the camp sides with amazing once we click in front of goal, and the only thing we need for that to happen is a little bit of luck, so the confidence really kicks in and the players can hang their belief on something tangible.

For Montano personally, he missed the games against Forest, Liverpool and Everton so he’ll be doubly determined to share in similar success this season.
