Oldham Athletic`s players not being paid has been put down to the recent stadium setback.

Latic`s players have not picked up their wages for February yet, they should have been paid on Friday but the club have said that this is no reason for fans to panic, it`s just a short term cashflow problem.

In a statement the club explained: ‘We can confirm that the players’ wages were not paid on Friday due to a cash-flow issue.

‘This is expected to be a short-term problem which has been created by the withdrawal of development investors after Oldham Council failed to receive permission from the Charity Commission for the swap of the trust status on the land adjacent to the Lancaster Club.

‘Everything is being done to try and ensure that the players receive their pay as soon as possible which is expected to be within the next three days.’
