Tranmere 0-1 Oldham

In a game that re-united football genius Ronnie Moore with his former club, it was the former club that came out on top.

Latics claimed victory through a Reuben Hazell header and defended out the game with Sean Gregan playing the captains role superbly. The former Preston, WBA and Leeds man even attempted an audacious 50 yard volley (not for the first time this season).

Moore had this to say about Gregan ‘If Gregan hadn’t been playing for them I think we’d have won the game easily.’

‘He was the best player on the pitch today and bossed and bullied one or two of our lads.’

So a good result for Latics, who become the first team to beat Tranmere at Prenton Park this season. We’re currently top of the league but if Leicester win they’ll claim top spot on goal difference.

Long may this form continue!
