Latics star Danny Whitaker has told the official site he’s delighted with life at BP following the clubs somewhat impressive start to the season.

Last year the creative midfielder was battling hard with Port Vale but couldn’t do enough to keep the now League 2 side afloat. However after a move closer to his birthplace, Danny has become an integral part of a Latics team topping the table. His partnership with last years player of the season; Mark Allott, has given Latics some extra bite in midfield.

Danny had this to say ‘I knew we had a good team when I first came becuase the gaffer said he’d kept hold of most of his players from last season, which is obviously good.’

‘The team have been a different class since the opening day and personally my form seems to be coming along nicely.’

Danny also spoke about his relationship with midfield partner Mark Allott ‘Myself and Mark have got a good relationship going on and off the pitch and that’s pleasing.’

Clearly Danny has shown how crucial a good team spirit is at Boundary Park this year and one can only hope he continues in the fine form, and maybe even re-captures the player of the month award.
