Oldham’s loveable shot stopper Les Pogliacomi has decided to call it a day after picking up an injury that potentially could see him out of action for over a year. The Australian keeper had only just recovered from injury when he was dealt a sorry blow to which he feel it would not be worth returning. He will fight to get back to fitness and hopes he can one day play in his home country again though.

Pogs was in his second spell with the club after a short spell with Blackpool and it is with deepest regret we say goodbye to a true Latics legend who would always give everything for the team he loved. The keeper has had trouble with injuries the past few seasons and few knew that the Australian had to play through the pain barrier for the majority of last season.

Pogs had this to say ‘basically it has been a disastrous season for me and unfortunatley it’s coming to an end because i am leaving the club.’

Everyone associated with the club would like to say a big thank you for Les’ 100% effort during both spells with the club.

Keep The Faith!
