Injury updates, one under the knife and a couple of Awards.

Lee Johnson has revealed that Christian Montano has now undergone surgery to have a cyst drained. Following surgery he now has an open wound so he’s very doubtful for the game against Crawley Town next weekend.

Johnson has to seek advice from the surgeon on when it’s likely he’ll be able to make a return to first team action.

Kusunga was also withdrawn from the squad owing to a tight hamstring that he picked up in training on Friday.

Tony Philliskirk has also been invited by the Football Association to join a party travelling to Greece to study youth football.

Philliskirk will join the FA’s director of elite development, Dan Ashworth, England U17 coach John Peacock and Ged Roddy who wrote the EPPP coaching blueprint.

The visit will last four days.

It’s Awards next in the news for players.

Adam Rooney has won the player of the month award for August from the Boundary Blues in their inaugural monthly award vote and James Tarkowski has walked away with the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre player of the month award also for August.

Tarks secured 78% of the vote from fans, with his nearest competitor, Korey Smith, gaining 13%. Jonathan Grounds secured 9% to come in third place.
