Jordan Bove has become the latest Oldham youngster to put pen to paper on a first professional contract with the club.

The goals were flowing for the teenager last season with him finding the net over 20 times for the youth team, however his first-team debut for the club wasn’t so successful! He lasted just for just two-minutes, having come of for Anton Rodgers; as he was signed off in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Notts County.

After signing his one-year contract he can’t wait to get going and is in confident mood he can score goals for the first-team if he gets his chance as ‘goals is what he does’.

Bove told the official website: ‘I’m feeling very good and optimistic. I hope this year goes well so I can get my option and do the best I can.

‘My personal aim is to get into the squad, play games, come on, score goals and keep my place in the side.

‘It’s always good scoring whether it’s for the youth team or first team. Scoring goals is what I do.’

The 18-year-old has warned the defenders he comes up against next season, if he gets the chance, he’ll always be on ‘the last man’ and will be working hard in the gym over the summer so he can come back in ‘good shape’ and will be looking to ‘come back flying’.
