Youth coach Tony Philliskirk continues to keep the future of Oldham bright with an eye for talented youngsters. Tony and fellow coach Mike Priest showed an array of future Latics talent against Preston, where the Latics claimed an impressive 4-1 win.

In recent seasons, Tony has helped nuture talents, who have broke through to the first team, such as Neal Eardley, Chris Taylor, Deane Smalley, Lewis Alessandra and Matty Wolfenden as well as helping the club balance the books with the sales of relative unknowns. The sales of Neal Trotman (Preston) and his own son Danny (Chelsea) have helped the club gain a windfall of cash plus future incentives and one wonders where the club would be without him.

Lewis Alessandra – just one of the great talents unearthed by Philliskirk

This man doesn’t get praised enough and Vital Oldham would like to say a big thank you for what he’s done at the club; long may it continue!
