Oldham had to be content with a point at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

A first half lead wasn’t something that we were able to hold onto and had to be content with a share of the spoils in the end in a 1-1 draw.

Jose Baxter had a chance inside the opening minute but ‘keeper Paul Rachubka pulled off a save to keep out the Blades made with Jabo Ibehre then shooting straight at Sheffield United ‘keeper Mark Howard.

Daniel Johnson, who scored on his debut, turned provider when he set up Jonathan Forte (16) who finished beyond Howard to give us the lead with Johnson soon threatening to add a second with Rachubka preventing Bob Harris from drawing the home side level before the break.

Finally that equaliser did come just past the hour when substitute Jamal Campbell-Ryce (63) fired through a crowded penalty area to level it up at one-one, which is how it ended but we ended with 10-men when Ibehre was sent off shortly before the end for a second yellow card.
