Oldham Athletic are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this midweek’s action.

The performance by Oldham Athletic in the two nil victory over Scunthorpe United in midweek at Boundary Park was enough to see Robinson named as manager of the most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Robinson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Heading up a strong list of contenders, Robinson earns his place as Manager of Midweek after guiding Oldham to a win over Sky Bet League One leaders Scunthorpe United. The Iron were unbeaten in eight EFL games, but were undone by well-taken first-half goals from Freddie Ladapo and Lee Erwin as the Latics upset the odds to claim maximum points.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Robinson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Lawrence Vigouroux (Swindon Town), Daniel Lafferty (Sheffield United), David Wheater (Bolton Wanderers), Luke Chambers (Ipswich Town), Paul Gallagher (Preston North End), Michael Bostwick (Peterborough United), Gary Gardner (Aston Villa), David Cotterill (Birmingham City), Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United), Sam Gallagher (Blackburn Rovers), Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers).

Manager – Steve Robinson (Oldham Athletic).
