Latics welcome Gillingham to Boundary Park after a good performance away against league leaders Swansea failed to find points.
It is the second time in a month that Oldham face Gillingham and there is a real feeling around Boundary Park that the playoff assualt can still happen after 2 impressive performances and the aquisition of 2 players proven at this level; Jason Jarrett and David Livermore.
Oldham Team News:
Latics have several injuries for the game and the news that loveable keeper Les Pogliacomi will not play again this season will no doubt come as a blow with no-one else challenging for the number 1 shirt. The injury list looks like this:
Sean Gregan – achilles
Andy Liddell – achilles
John Thompson – knee
JP Kalala – knee and ankle
Lee Hughes – groin
Les Pogliacomi – knee
Player to watch: David Livermore
It will be interesting to see how the new boy settles in on his home debut. Shez has spoke of Livermore’s versatility being a key to his signing so it is unknown what position he will start.
Gillingham Team News:
The Gills see the return of 2 players in Gary Mulligan and Nicky Southall but may be without Mark Bentley who is struglling with an achilles injury.
Player to watch: Andrew Crofts
Latics will have to watch out for his trademark late runs into the box if they hope to keep a clean sheet like the last time the 2 clubs met. He played alongside Neal Eardley and Craig Davies in Wales’ 3-0 win over Norway midweek.
The last time these clubs met was little under a month ago and resulted in a 0-0 draw despite Gillingham having their keeper sent off.
Oldham 4-0 Gillingham
I can really see Davies bagging a few today after his return to international football midweek after seeing out a ban.
