A morale-boosting win for Oldham over Huddersfield Town sends us into the league 1 season in good spirits.

Oldham saw off the championship side with a 3-1 win at Boundary Park on Saturday afternoon.

After Sean Scannell should have put the visitors ahead before James Dayton did for us to send us into the half time break one-nil up.

The chance to double this lead came early in the second half after Jonson Clarke-Harris was brought down in the box, his own effort was saved by Alex Smithies but Liam Kelly tucked away the rebound.

Nahki Wells brought Huddersfield back into the game but Clarke-Harris made up for his penalty miss with a 25-yarder into the top corner to secure a three-one win.
