John Sheridan has today signed Wigan Athletic young starlet, Tomasz Cywka, on a one-month initial loan.

Sheridan beat off competition from a number of clubs to sign him, and he now looks as though he will play some part in tomorrow’s game against Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s paint trophy.

Cywka signed for Wigan in the summer after impressing Paul Jewell in a trial. Jewell thinks the youngster will have a bright future in England and thinks he has ‘all the attributes to become a very good player; great touch, vision and pace’.

Jewell convinced the youngster he has a future in English football after beating off competition from Bayern Munich, who were also interested in the player.

Cywka has made 80 appearances for Poland U-18 and holds the record for the youngest player to play for Poland U-21.
