Lee Johnson has today completed his fifth signing of the summer by making a trialist a permanent Oldham signing.

Timothée Diéng turned out for us in our eight-one win over Curzon Ashton recently, getting to play the second half of that game as a ‘holding midfielder’ and having impressed enough in that game and in training he has been handed a two-year contract.

French second division outfit Stade Brestois had been the employers of the 22-year-old until the end of last season but he parted company with them at the end of his deal.

His contract with the club allows the option of a third-year with the fans likely to get their first glimpse of him, if they didn’t see him in the Curzon Ashton win, tomorrow when Newcastle United come to Boundary Park, sorry I mean ‘ Park’….
