Oldham manager John Sheridan named an unchanged side for the third successive game in row for yesterdays battle with Swindon at Boundary Park, only to see a disappointing 0-0 drawn, which could of boosted their hopes for promotion.

The first half seemed to be very scrappy, and Swindon’s defense was staying very strong, with an fantastic performance from the Robin’s goalkeeper Peter Brezovan, who foiled all of Oldham’s best efforts with some spectacular saves, which came from Lee Hughes, Chris Taylor and Kelvin Lomax, he also stopped sub Lewis Alessandra late on to deny Oldham the three points.

In all Swindon only managed to get 4 shots away in the 90 minutes, whereas Oldham dominated all of the chances having 9 shots on target and having 3 go off target. A fairly clean game ended with 0 yellow cards for the Latics and 3 going to Swindon one of which went to Razak who was making his debut, and was very lucky to not get sent off late on.

After only managing a point yesterday it was still enough to keep them in 6th place, as Leeds lost 1-0 to Walsall, putting them five points behind the Latics.

The gaff felt that Oldham should taken all three points from the game ‘ I thought we deserved to win the game, we played well- especially in the second half when we got right at them. Their keeper made some great saves and we had chances. We should have won the game, no danger’. Shez go’s on to say ‘If we can keep that level of performance up we have a very good chance of winning the game on Tuesday, which we need to do as our home form will be vital’. This was taken from an interview with the official site.

Bring on Bristol!!!
