Oldham have today signed David Noble and immediately loaned him out, but also brought in Bolton Wanderers striker Conor Wilkinson on loan.

Starting with Noble, the 32 year old midfielder has today signed a short term contract with us but been immediately given permission to return to former club Exeter City on loan.

That is literally the extent of the news on that deal. But fans will know he was with us on non contract terms only very recently before we let him depart.

In other news, Bolton development striker Wilkinson has joined us for a month.

The 19 year old goes straight into the squad to face Gillingham tomorrow and he actually scored against us in midweek in the Manchester Senior Cup and will add to his loan experience following early spells last season with Chester and Torquay.

He has also represented the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19 and U21 level.

Manager Lee Johnson commented on the capture.

‘He’s a player we have tracked for a while now, we watched him progress through the ranks at Bolton and we look forward to bringing him into the squad.’

Wilkinson has been handed the No 14 shirt.
