Latics welcome Leyton Orient to Boundary Park in a league game of no importance for either side.
Shez has come out and told the official site that the remaining games of this season will be used to give youngsters a run out and nuture veterans back to fitness. It is therefore no suprise to see call ups for 3 apprentices; Rory Winters, Aaron Chalmers and Ryan Brooke.
Oldham Athletic Team News:
PNE loanee Jason Jarrett is the latest name to be added to the injury list after he picked up a groin injury at Swindon. Several youth players will be looking for starts but it is more likely that both Lidds and Gregan will be picked ahead of them.
Hopefully Shez use these remaining matches to try out some new formations and maybe, Taylor on the right wing (several fans have called for this, yet Shez has remained stubborn).
Player to watch: Andy Liddell
Lidds has sparked a debate amongst Latics fans as to whether he should be given a new contract. Many believe that he is past it and his wages are to high whereas others believe he is crucial for the development of Eardley.
Last season Lidds topped the assists chart with 19 and he will need to show he can still do this against Orient in order to keep the moaners off his back.
Leyton Orient Team News:
Orient were pace setters at one point in this league but have gone off the boil and now linger in a similar position to that of Latics. Orient fans will be pleased to hear that Sam Oji, Tamika Mkandawire and Brian Saah have all been named in the squad and are therefore available for first 11 duties.
Player to watch: JJ Melligan
Orient’s Melligan has just served a 3 match supension and will hope to cause the Oldham backline some problems cutting in from the wing.
Last time the two clubs met Oldham were beaten in a 1-0 defeat. Latics controlled the game and it was the first real viewing Latics fans got of Neal Trotman.
