Oldham are apparently in talks with former Gretna playermaker Fabian Yantorno. The former Uruguayan under 17s and 20s midfielder had his contract cancelled at SPL strugglers Gretna due to the club not being able to afford the rehabilitation costs needed for Yantorno to regain fitness after knee ligament damage.

The 25 year old however is seeking a new club in Britain and according to links Oldham are willing to gamble on the crocked midfielder.

If Yantorno does sign and get fit Latics could finally have found the added flair that has been missed due to the summer departure of Richie Wellens. Speculation has mounted that Oldham were tipped off by former ‘Tic Paul Murray also at Gretna.
