Oldham are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Liam Kelly in the two nil victory over Swindon Town on Tuesday evening at Boundary Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Kelly was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Oldham moved to within a point of Sky Bet League 1 safety after beating Swindon Town 2-0 at Boundary Park, with Kelly a commanding presence in the centre of midfield. He grabbed his fifth goal of the season in the win, with Curtis Main doubling the Latics’ lead late on.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Kelly for his recognition, but the most important thing about the match was of course taking the three points.

Full Team:

David Marshall (Cardiff City), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Nathan Pond (Fleetwood Town), Tomas Kalas (Middlesbrough), Gaston Ramirez (Middlesbrough), Bradley Johnson (Derby County), Liam Kelly (Oldham Athletic), George Saville (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Lasse Vibe (Brentford), Jamie Cureton (Dagenham and Redbridge), Wes Burns (Fleetwood Town).

Manager – Darren Wassall (Derby County).
