Oldham take on Notts County tonight in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms has said he’d relish a trip to Wembley this season.

Having played at the National stadium six times in his playing career, Mimms told the Official Site that he feels it would be fantastic for the club if we could progress against County tonight and go all the way, because it really gives fans and players something to look forward to as the season progreses.

‘We’ve taken it seriously from round one because we want to progress. We know the importance of the competition, not just for the club, but also for the fans. They will be looking at the result thinking they may soon be having a day out at Wembley.’

Following our league defeat to the Midlands side, Mimms said it was our worst performance of the season even though we lost three two and got on the score sheet twice, so whilst the team would’ve learnt a lot about the opposition and ourselves, and we will be out for some revenge, but we have to factor in they have a new gaffer now in Shaun Derry so the only thing he can guarantee fans is that we’ll perform better than we did last time out.

The squad for tonight’s game as also now been announced and on loan Joseph Mills returns to contention having missed our last four matches with a hamstring injury, and Anton Rodgers also returns having missed the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers with illness.

We are however missing Carl Winchester and Kirk Millar who are away on international duty and scholar Jordan Bove has returned to the youth team for their Lancashire FA Youth Cup quarter final against Burnley.

Oxley, Brown, Grounds, Wesolowski, Kusunga, Tarkowski, Schmeltz, Smith, Rooney, Montano, Mellor, Clarke-Harris, Rodgers, Dayton, Mills, Philliskirk, Rachubka.

In FA Cup news, our replay against Wolves at the Molineux has been set for Tuesday November 19th and it will kick off at 7.45pm.
