Oldham are 11-points off the ‘magical’ 50-point mark that most think is needed to stay in league one with Gary Johnson hoping that this can be edged closer to this weekend.

The Oldham boss has said that he believes that on their day his side can beat anyone but knows the weekend opponents Crawley Town will be a very tough side to beat, with him in attendance as they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

A need to ‘get at them’ is what is required though, with him telling the Manchester Evening News: ‘We need to be right at them.

‘Timing is really important.’

The wins need to come; Johnson isn’t bothered against whom they come against and isn’t putting any higher in the priority stakes.

He also admitted his own ‘mistakes’ this season, with him looking to learn from his own mistakes and see improvement next season starting with the usage of fewer players with a staggering, for a ‘lot of reasons’, 40 players used this season.
