As Oldham found out about their potential second round opponents in the FA Cup earlier today, Lee Johnson said that we’d be worrying about Wolves first before allowing ourselves to think about Mansfield Town.

Speaking to the Official Site after the draw was made, our gaffer said.

‘Let’s worry about Wolves first. The good thing is it’s a home draw, with the amount of travelling we have coming up, it would be good to be at home.’

As for the game against Wolves itself, he told the press following the match that he felt it was evenly poised for the replay and still anybody’s game at this stage.

‘I’m really pleased with the lads because we created chances and could have forced a win. It was difficult at times but in the first half Wolves showed they are a very good side and you have to respect their quality. We still looked quite comfortable at one all and, if anything, I thought we were the side in the ascendancy.’

Johnson adds that Oldham planned to go out and get on the front foot quickly as we wanted to shock them early on with our attacking play and that basically worked as we took the goal after only two minutes, and even though they came back into it he was more than delighted with our overall play.

Lee Johnson had something else to celebrate this weekend as his former club Yeovil have named in him their ‘Team of the Decade’ to celebrate their ten year anniversary of being a Football League club.

Johnson made the swift trip down their yesterday for a celebratory dinner, and he and other former players named were guests in today’ game against Wigan.
